A little bit south of town of Liberty
There’s a place with a garden
And a rock inscribed with honors
Where the father’s rest beneath their treasured flag
My bugle sounds, they echo
Through the misty river valley
While Taps, I play so slowly
As the heroes lay unlonely
I play the way they taught me

Reminds me of Taps, every evening at 5 pm, and saluting as the flag was lowered each day. I had the honor of playing Taps on my guitar once at a radar site on a mountain top in Arizona. Their audio system went out, so I played taps on my strat and ran it through my bodacious amp, and everyone heard it just fine. It was a rush job, the tubes got warmed up about 30 seconds before 5. No practice time, just doit. Thanks for the reminder, I hadn’t thought of that in years.
